Title: Firefox Can’t Display KMK Help or Tutorial Files

Detailed Description:

When you click on one of the KMK’s “Help” buttons, and Firefox is your default browser, you get an error message similar to this:

File not found

Firefox can’t find the file at /usr/share/keymusician-keyboard/Help/Chords-NumKeyPad.html.

Check the file name for capitalization or other typing errors.

Check to see if the file was moved, renamed or deleted.

The same thing happens if you attempt to read the tutorials (from the F1 Help/Setup pane), with Firefox as your default browser.

The Chromium browser exhibits the same problem.

Cause Of Problem:

As far as I can tell, it appears to be caused by some new security setting (or feature) in Firefox, that prevents it from reading system files. On Linux, the Help and Tutorials files are stored (along with the application) in the “/usrshare/keymusician-keyboard” directory, where they are available to all users.

Work-Around:

If you install Chrome (not Chromium), and use it as your default browser, this problem will not occur.

Alternatively, you can use Firefox or Chromium to access the Help or Tutorials online, in the KeyMusician Keyboard member-pages.

Fix Available:

I have no control over Firefox, or Chromium.
